This statement is made pursuant to section 54 of the UK Modern Slavery Act 2015 and outlines the steps taken by Spectrum for Men to prevent slavery and human trafficking in our business operations and supply chains.

Our Business and Structure

Spectrum for Men is a niche online community for Gay, Bi, and Queer individuals, providing forums, blogs, product reviews, directories, social networking, and affiliate content. Our platform is intended for adults only and may include sensitive or adult-oriented material. We operate primarily as a digital service, relying on partnerships with technology, advertising, and professional service providers to support our business.

Our Policies

Spectrum for Men is committed to ethical business practices and upholding human rights. Our policies-including our Terms of Service, Acceptable Use Policy, Community Guidelines, and Supplier Code of Conduct prohibit any form of modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labor, or unlawful child labor in our operations or on our platform.

  • We do not allow any content or activity that promotes, solicits, or facilitates slavery, human trafficking, or exploitation, including paid services involving physical sexual content or any sexual or suggestive content involving minors.
  • We require all users and partners to respect the rights and safety of others and to comply with all applicable laws.
  • We prohibit discrimination, harassment, violence, and any acts that threaten the safety or dignity of individuals.

Supply Chains and Due Diligence

Spectrum for Men is not a manufacturer and does not purchase raw materials or commodities. Our procurement is focused on digital services, cloud hosting, software, office supplies, and professional services. We expect all suppliers and partners to adhere to high ethical standards and applicable laws, including prohibitions on forced or compulsory labor and human trafficking.

  • We conduct due diligence on suppliers, including reviewing their labor and human rights practices where appropriate.
  • Our supplier agreements include contractual provisions requiring compliance with anti-slavery and human trafficking laws.
  • We may require improvements to substandard employment practices or terminate relationships with suppliers that fail to meet our standards.

Risk Assessment and Management

We regularly assess the risks of modern slavery and human trafficking in our business and supply chains, focusing on areas where risk may be higher due to geographic, sectoral, or operational factors. Our risk management includes:

  • Reviewing suppliers’ labor practices and compliance with local and international laws.
  • Monitoring for any activities or content on our platform that could indicate exploitation or trafficking.
  • Taking prompt action to investigate and address any concerns raised by staff, users, or third parties.

Training and Awareness

All Spectrum for Men employees and contractors receive training on our anti-slavery and human trafficking policies as part of onboarding and ongoing compliance programs. Training covers:

  • How to identify signs of modern slavery and human trafficking.
  • How to report concerns or suspected violations.
  • Our commitment to upholding human rights and ethical standards.

Reporting and Remediation

We encourage employees, users, and suppliers to report any concerns about slavery or human trafficking through our designated reporting channels. Reports are investigated promptly and confidentially. Where issues are identified, we take appropriate remedial action, which may include working with suppliers to improve practices or terminating business relationships.

Effectiveness and Review

We assess the effectiveness of our anti-slavery measures by:

  • Reviewing and updating our policies annually.
  • Monitoring supplier compliance and conducting periodic risk assessments.
  • Tracking and responding to reports or incidents involving potential modern slavery or human trafficking.
